Courtney dives into the real, raw beauty of life's shifts and struggles.

Hi you magnificent humans,

This week rather than an affirmation post I wanted to do a "State of Mind" post. I want to try to keep you all in the loop about life and treat these as a sort of stream of consciousness medium, if you will. I can't help but marvel at how life can lead us on unexpected journeys, shaping us in ways we never imagined. Today, I want to let you in on some personal changes in my life, as well as the joys and challenges that come with them. In this stream of consciousness, I hope to create a space that's real, raw, and embraces the holistic beauty of every moment.

Some of you may know this, but Ken and I have embarked on the beautiful journey of starting a family, and it's brought about a profound shift in our lives. It has me acknowledging the changes we're about to set forth and it comes with this sense of finality and yet a overwhelming feeling of endless possibilites.

No we're not pregnant. YET. lol

Embracing this new chapter fills my heart with joy, but it also comes with the realization that life will never be quite the same again. Every decision feels more significant, and the future feels both exhilarating and uncertain. Yet, amidst this shift, there's an undercurrent of excitement, a profound sense of connection, and a growing awareness of the beauty of parenthood (amongst juggling the goals and aspirations we still have for our lives).

In the midst of this emotional whirlwind, my acting career has taken a promising turn. As the spotlight on my professional life intensifies, so does the need to keep my stress levels in check. The last few weeks have been really taxing to be honest. Trying to juggle being on set for absolutely crazy hours, wearing many hats on set as well... trying to keep up with the blog and Instagram content.

it's exhausting y'all. I'm exhausted.

Stress and anxiety have been companions on my journey,

but thanks to my endeavors with Makeup Yer Mind... I've taught myself a few things without even realizing it. I've come to understand in this journey of embracing a holistic approach to beauty that "beauty" means taking care of my mind and soul just as much as my physical appearance. So, I'm actively working on finding peace within myself and striving for a harmonious balance between work and personal life.

It's in this space of honesty that I want to share my life with you, friends. Too often, the beauty industry and social media present a carefully curated highlight reel of others' lives.

###But here, I want to break that norm and show you the real and tangible aspects of my journey. Life isn't always perfect, and that's okay. I want to create a safe corner of the internet where authenticity reigns, and we can all celebrate the beauty of imperfections.

The truth is, I'm always afraid. And that's okay!

Feeling overwhelmed is part of being human. I've learned that acknowledging these feelings, sitting with them, and allowing them to exist is a vital step in embracing emotional wellness. It's okay not to be okay sometimes. Through sharing our struggles, we open doors to meaningful conversations and connection. So, let's hold space for each other and lend our support in times of need. Remember, we're in this together, and together, we are stronger.

I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to all of you. Thank you for being here, for allowing me to create a sanctuary of acceptance and reality on the internet. Your presence and engagement have made this journey even more beautiful. Let's encourage each other to comment, to share, and to start conversations about our struggles and triumphs alike. Here, it's safe, it's anonymous, and it's a place where we can all grow and heal together.

Life's shifts may be daunting, but they are also what make it a breathtaking adventure. Embrace the changes, cherish the present, and have faith in the future. Together, let's make our lives a canvas of holistic beauty, painted with authenticity, acceptance, and love.

So in the spirit of caring for myself I'll be kinda quiet on here and on social media while I'm gone for a family vacation this week.

It's so important for us to realize that it's okay to take breaks. No one is perfect and none of us were built to be work machines from sun up to sun down 24/7 365, you know?

I can't wait to come back refreshed and ready to be there for you all!!

I love you more than words can say!

Love always,
Courtney xoxo
